The World War ll Legacy of Taroa Island

During WWII Taroa Island in the Marshall Islands was the home to the most easterly Japanese airfield.  Destroyed by ruthless bombing by American forces in 1945, visitors can still bear witness to the history of this battle when walking through the jungle to this day.  This is the story of the battle and the legacy left behind for the Marshallese who live within the ruins of this brutal conflict.
